Ian was one of many bosses that came to the FCR and one of the nicest. He always had his office door open for anyone to pop their head round. It was the fact he like 'special' pens that I discovered the 'CROSS' pen, and that's what we got him when he left FCR at Newby. Taken way too early. RIP Mr Thompson
