Ian was one of my Supervisors during my Probationer period (2 years) with North Yorkshire Police, between 1990-1992. He was one of the best, and I was honoured to have had him, and his devoted wife, Amanda as lifelong friends since. It’s a great shame, but true for many I guess, that Ian will not know how loved and respected he was by his friends and colleagues, but I hope all the kind and loving messages since Ian was taken from us all too soon will give comfort and pride to Amanda, Adam, Jason and Ian’s wider family. I can only comfort myself in that the good guys are taken from us for some wider good. My love to all Ian’s family.
