Going back to his North Yorkshire Police days, Ian was always a friendly, engaging and expert input on training courses I would attend or run. Ian was one of the people who inspired my interest in communications and he would often volunteer his time and command vehicle to training courses at the EPC. He will be a major loss to the communications sector and his leadership and management of shows, workshops and the organisation of British APCO is testament to his hard work.
