We chatted many times late into the night around meetings and events, generally in licensed premises, and amongst other things we spoke often about retirement and you helped me to shape my own plans with your sound advice. I also feel the need to apologise for ‘leading you astray’ at the late night whisky session that caused the memorable hangover in Newcastle, and that you mentioned every time you introduced me to someone new!
